• Assesses plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for residents according to accepted nursing practices and standards • Works in consultation with medical practitioners, and members of health teams. • Administers medications and treatments. • Observes, records and reports on changes in resident’s conditions and their reactions to drugs and other treatments. • Supervises and co-ordinates the care team. • Hand-over review, check resident’s diary and day plan, care plan updates. • To function in accordance with legislative requirements

Sets nursing goals, maintains standards of care and performs tasks requiring medical knowledge, such as administering medications by intravenous line and critically ill patients. They maintain patient records, monitor patients for changes in vital signs and involve physicians and other health care professionals as needed.

This is a three year diploma course provides me with a sound theoretical and clinical foundation in my nursing profession.Major areas of study include anatomy and physiology; community care nursing; foundational nursing care; high dependency nursing; medical surgical nursing; and mental health nursing, with an emphasis on research-based practice and midwifery.During my studies I got an opportunity to do clinical practice in all speciality areas.
