My philosophy of nursing

The aspects of my nursing philosophy are knowledge, time management, compassion/caring, advocacy, respect, honesty and patient privacy. Knowledge is the core of success in this career. A good nurse must think holistically, and constantly anticipating the needs of patient.  Nurse must be able to prioritize health care issues in order to provide effective care to patient. In the nursing profession, nurses need to have an overwhelming amount of compassion and caring for their patients and their families.  Nurses are not only caring for the patient’s physical health, but also their emotional needs. I will strive to maintain and adhere to my personal nursing philosophy throughout my career.  Nursing, as a whole, is a well-respected, rewarding and self-fulfilling career.

Personal Goals

  • My personal goal is to become a fully qualified registered nurse in my life.
  • Secondly, I want to be a successfull person in my life and want to held special nursing position and I hope to make my parent proud.
  • I want to settle in Australia with my family for bright future.
  • Nursing is a profession I have always looked upon with respect. I believe that the role of a nurse can be very challenging and hectic at times, as well as rewarding and fulfilling. In my opinion a person who is willing to become a nurse needs to have very good interpersonal skills, be a good listener, empathetic, eager to learn and strive to improve themselves. Therefore, my aim is to provide safe and effective care to people under code of practice in order to achieve optimal level of health and well-being.

Academic Goals

  • My first academic goal is succussful completion of my course including clinical placements.
  • My aim is not merely to have a sound theoretical base but to be able to adapt this knowledge in real-life situations.
  • I want to learn as much as I can, during my clinical placements because there is difference in health system and nursing practices between Australia and India.
  • I want to keep myself upto date with new technology and information in order to achieve competencies and maintain continue professional development (CPD) in my nursing career.
  • I will use every possible opportunity to gain hand-on experience.

Career Goals

  • I want to get Australian nursing registration and I want to be a nurse to do something worthwhile with my career, I want to be a nurse to utilise all of the best parts of my character.
  • I want to develop a set of skills which will stay with me for the rest of my life and kick start a career doing something.
  • Nursing, in my opinion, is a career where we never really finish training. It is a highly demanding career that brings new challenges every day, but with it comes many rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I really want to develop my skills and knowelge in psychiatric nursing because it is a exciting and challenging nursing speciality. I want to promote sel-esteem of clients and others.
