Introduction

Please provide an introduction to your assessment tool and where it perhaps fits in your course.  As per the CD, to gain full marks for this component you will need to provide an 'excellent introduction demonstrated by clearly stated course title, content and learning outcomes and how and why the chosen assessment tool/task best aims to meet some or all of these learning outcomes.'.

 

Implementation

This component looks at the time it is coing to take you the lecturer to set up everything prior to support students submissions, and the time and resourcess it may take to assess and feedback post the submission.  This where you might put the discussion of the following:

  • Logical and attainable timeframes for research, planning, development of the instructions of the task for students to follow
  • Logical and attainable timeframes for development of submission and feedback processes
  • Development of resources or links to support students

For example a video submission requires the lecturer to provide students on how to create the video, how to submit the video and then have the tools to access the videos for marking.

In this section you need to provide the following information for students to gain a clear understanding of what is expected of them, when and how:

  • Purpose of the task
  • Description of the task
  • Due date
  • Weighting
  • Word lenght (if applicable)
  • Time allocation (how much time you think the student needs to complete the task)
  • Submission process
  • Marking criteria
  • Assessor
  • Feedback - what is the process of providing this to students.

You may like to display this as dot point.  Note page 6 of your Course Descriptor as an example.

Feedback

Please explain what types of feedback you plan to give students and when to assist them in successfully completing this task and improving their work for the future.  You may include an attachment.

Evidence

This component requires a mini literature review as a way of providing some evidence around the assessment tool you have chosen. It only needs to be 3-5 articles that critically analyses the literature and supports the use of your assessment tool in demonstrating or achieving the intended learning outcomes of your course.  As per the CD, to gain full marks for this component you will need to provide an 'excellent provision of evidence demonstrated by providing a comprehensive critical analysis of literature to explore evidence based best practice for chosen assessment tool/task.
