Hai Everyone,

I am Ajaymon from India,doing my Bachelor of Nursing (post Registration) in William Light Instiute, Adelaide under the university of Ballarat. I like to be called Ajay. I completed my diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from st. Mary's school of Nursing from where I received hand full of knowledge in Nursing. I worked as registered nurse in India for five years in operation theatre which gave me good experience to practice professional nursing in highly stressful situation. I am looking forward to expand  my professional skills and knowledge in various fields of nursing and like to learn new things from experience, welcome challenges and wish to maintain high standard of professional competency.

Reflection

Bachelor of nursing studies in Australia gives me ample opportunities for my overall personal and professional development. Life in Australia is entirely a new experience for me and it gives me an occasion to know about the various cultures, different values and life styles of people from nook and corner of the world. I hope that my Australian studies will give a wonderful knowledge and skills which will contribute to my professional career.

My Philosophy of Nursing

Nursing is a profession which is based on commitment,dedication and will power. The quality of patient care depend on these values practiced by nursing professionals through which one would be able to provide maximum best care to the clients. When I provide care to my clients with dedication and commitment I feel satisfied with my own performance. When my words and actions save one's own life I can proudly ay that I am a successful nurse. The satisfaction of my client is my joy.My nursing philosophy is one of holistic care, delivering compassionate and culturally sensitive care to patients, families, and or significant others. I believe that nursing is an occupation consisting of professional individuals that exhibit and express compassion, respect, dignity, and integrity to their patients and fellow coworkers. As a nurse one must be a patient advocate, through clear communication, education, and applying critical thinking, and decision making skills to help better the patients' outcome. As a nurse, it is important to me to provide the highest quality nursing care possible to achieve excellence in patient results, while simultaneously, providing a respectful healing environment.

If I get an opportunity I would like to work with any volunteer organisation which renders care to the destitutes. I too have an aim of bringing my wife who is a registered nurse in India and babe to Ausrtralia.Then I want to support my family members who is the  sole source of life and who inspired me to become what I am today.

I am Ajaymon, an overseas trained registered nurse doing my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at University of Ballarat which would be completed by November 2012.

I have five years of experience in Operation Theatre from a multi- Speciality Hospital in New Delhi, India. This experience taught me to practice my profession with confidence in any competent nursing field. It was an opportunity  which enabled me to undertake and manage many challenging and stressful situations. As a theatre nurse  I am able to assist all types of surgeries such as orthological, neurological, gynecological , kidney transplantation and many others.

Exceptional managerial, interpersonal and communication skills required to remain highly focussed and self-possessed in fast paced and high stress environment. Tested experience in multi-speciality hospital settings,  the ability to put patient at ease, make them more comfortable when they are feeling anxious and psychologically stressed and seek co-operation from people under less than ideal circumstances.
