Reflection

Reflection has the potential to help nurses to develop from their practice. All my nursing life I have found joy in helping care for others and their needs. I am glad that I had the chance to complete   my post registration course at Ballarat University. During my course I felt well supported by my tutors and considered their input to be of great help to me during the course. Although sometimes  the new education system and new atmosphere  find it hard to accept praise for my action also welcome it as it gives me confidence and lets me know that I am doing correctly. In my nursing study I felt that I am supported  by my  tutors .They help me to achieve the student independence  in order  to use my initiative and become self motivated.

Interest

I am interested in  driving and gardening. I consider my self as a good listner to music. I like to spend time with my family.

Philosophy of Nursing

My philosophy of nursing addresses four things: society, environment, the recipient of nursing care, and the interaction between society, person and the environment. All inter actions between the societies, the environment, and the recipient of care are dynamic and personally, nursing is my way of giving back to society. I enjoy helping others. Giving myself gives me peace of mind and spirit. I have found there is far more to healing than medicine. The ability to truly show a person that you care involves interacting with that person on a spiritual level. I have found that this level of interaction provides therapeutic basis to promote trust there by aiding in the healing process. Without this therapeutic environment, complete healing is inhibited. My philosophy is easily carried into my professional life.

Development of Learning Goal

My learning objective include to improve my communication skill, to improve holistic approach in caring for my patient, to learn more about good nursing skills to learn more about positive reinforcement of good healthy living condition.

Strategies include doing higher studies in nursing, practicing paediatric critical care nursing, doing self studies using internet publications, participating seminar, workshops related to nursing.

My strength includes the ability to cop up with different culture because I worked both Arabian and European countries. So I know more about the people and their civilization.

My weakness is my late exposure to my assignment task. I have been writing assignment only after came to Australia for the past 8 months.

My opportunity include I will attend workshops and seek help from my tutors and also will attend special session. My treat includes lack of time to learn more about writing assignments.

My plan of action includes  to develop my writing task for that I am writing more assignments .I am succeeding in it and know very well that  the importants of language and communication in nursing field.
