Nurses prayer

Ritu Saini's profile picture

Give me strength and wisdom,

When others need my touch;

A soothing word to speak to them,

Their hearts yearn for so much.

Give me joy and laughter,

To lift a weary soul;

Pour in me compassion,

To make the broken whole.

Give me gentle, healing hands,

For those left in my care;

A blessing to those who need me,

(Allison Chambers Coxsey)

Nursing Philosophy from my views

It is a profession which uses evidence based practices yet displays a comprehensive understanding of human beings. As a professional nurse I feel a personal commitment toward life-long learning, through formal education and hands-on experience to better myself and my nursing knowledge. In keeping my job philosophy and mission in mind I believed that I have developed a philosophy that reflects the values of caring, human life and dignity, the environment, health, professional nursing, cultural diversity, and educational achievement.

Personal Goals

Although it is very hard to separate our personal goals from career goals these days however, I would love to earn a good life with good knowledge and skills. I want to be trustworthy for others and myself also. Being a nurse i would love to contribute in the
field of nursing if i could..and also throughout my nursing career i want to be honest with my nursing profession.

Career Goals

I love working with the elderly. If, for some reason, I don't like surgical nursing as much as I think I will, I want to work with the elderly, most likely in an Acute Care for the Elderly unit at a hospital. I work in a nursing home as an Enrolled Nurse and love it as well so I may work at a nursing home instead...it just depends on how much I like the areas I get my initial experiences in. My clinical rotations (During my EN placements) didn't offer as much experience in either of those areas as I would have liked and they both interest me very much.

Personal Skills

I am good in working with other people, to work in a team. Also i have got good interpersonal skills. Although i am not a champion with computer skills but i think i can manage good enough. There is always room to improve in everybody's life and career as well so i always try to do things in such a way so that i dont need to hide myself from my inner conscious.

My additional vital skills are patience, emotionally stability, dependability, confidentiality, the willingness to work well with others and the capability to perform repetitive daily tasks.

Work Skills

My experience as Registered nurse in India in the medical and surgical Unit has given me the exceptional capacity to multitask and manage competing priorities easily while also delivering superior patient care. I have exceptional knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety issues, as i always take opportunity from my workplace to do regular training for occupational health anf safety..

I have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with patients, families and other team members, and great accuracy in patient history, charting and other documentation.

I am committed to the care and treatment of patients of all different ages and medical histories. I look forward to discussing my suitability as a Registered nurse because i am soon completing my Bachelor of Nursing here in Australia.

Interests

Throughout my nursing career i want to make a real difference in the care for elderly people. They deserve the best.........So why we should not step in for them........
