My Philosophy of Nursing
Nursing is a profession that I aspired to be a part of because nurses represent the very core of love, compassion, and caring. I am a future nurse and I believe Nursing is the most helpful and honourable career in the world. When I do become a nurse I will have a chance to serve and help other. Serving others and their needs before my own needs will make a difference. My words and my actions can save my patients' lives. Moreover, nurses get the opportunity to interact and communicate with people of all ages, and different races. To me there is no greater reward than to help a patient heal or recover from their illness.

Reflection
As a nursing student I am feeling excited that I am finishing my course soon and hopefully will become registered nurse. When I started my clinical placement, I was feeling so anxious and nervous that how I would be able to work here in Australian health care system. But, on our first day our director of nursing oriented us with the hospital environment and she welcomed us very nicely. Staffs were so supportive and cooperative and as time went my fear gone and I felt much comfortable and gain confidence while working with the patient. I realized and remember that it’s almost same what I did in my country. Another thing, I got the chance to see the operation in the theatre. Overall, my experience in this hospital is so good and it developed more knowledge and I am keen to work as a nurse in Australia as soon as possible.
Career Goals
I am a passionate, self-directed and self motivated learner with an insatiable thirst to know new things and contribute to new knowledge. In terms of my current carrer goal is to successfully completed my Bacherlor of nursing and obtain registration from australian health practitioner regulation agency as a registered nurse Division 1. I would like to develop my deeper skills in oncology unit as I had experience in oncology unit and done certificate course. Further more, my future professional learning and career goal is I am interested in undertaking a masters degree in the area of research.
Clinical Experience
I started my placement on 15 August 2011 at Essendon Private Hospital which is medical and surgical based hospital. I am finishing my clinical soon on 7 October 2011. I did this clinical placement under the course of acute care 4 while doing my bachelor of nursing. As a student my role and responsibilities was I have to make my own learning objectives for each week and try to fulfil that objectives by seek opportunities in the hospital. In addition, we have to take care of at least 4 patient till the end of clinical placement such as admitting a patient, obtain complete history and physical, social and psychological assessment of the patient. Learn and demonstrate good documentation such as writing patient progress notes and discharge plans. Other role was demonstrating good knowledge and skills while performing any procedure such as wound dressing and removal of drainage tube, maintain intravenous therapy according to patient condition and based on assessment. Administer medication and look after patient under the staff supervision. To maintain privacy and confidentiality of the client, behave in a professional manner. Seek clarification immediately when we need help and inform everything about the patient and document it.
